Having trouble getting old DOS/Windows games to work?

You're in the main area of the site - the games area! The box above allows you to search our game database using certain criteria to find the games you want. The entire games database is based on this search engine and so the only way to view the games on this site is to search via this page - there are no links to the games anywhere else! Once you've performed a search, you can bookmark the page you get back if you wish to return to that search later. Most of these games were created long before the fast modern computers of today. Therefore you might need to download a program that helps you run the games on your computer. Take a look at our utilities page, or this help page we've created.

You'll find several different types of games listed:-

• Freeware - The game is free. Download, play and enjoy!
• Shareware - The game is free to play for a certain period of time, then you must pay or 'register' the game to continue playing it.
• Abandonware - The game wasn't free in the past, but the author(s) have long since abandoned it and so it's considered to have entered the public domain.

You may also see a few other categories of games, such as demos and even reviews of full games.

We at Gem's Games provide information on each game we list to help you decide whether you'd like to download it. Each listing will have a brief description/review of the game, a screenshot, a rating (see below for ratings definitions), which operating system(s) it will run on, and the size of the download.

Most of these games are zipped up into '.zip' format. You will need an unzipper program to unzip these files. If you don't already have one, we recommend WinRAR. Click on the icon below to visit the WinRAR site.

Games on this site are rated on a scale of 1 to 5, as follows:

	An excellent game that almost everyone should like. Download it now!
	A good game that may not appeal to a few. Still worth the download, though.
	A game that is OK. If you like the sound of this game, you might want to download it.
	A game that is bad. There are serious errors which ruin it, or a certain aspect of the game (eg. sound, graphics, etc.) is terrible!
	A game that is either unplayable, or not fit to be played.
